Vineyard Professional Services, Inc. was formed in 1997 by John and Neeltje Crossland to provide a range of top quality cost-effective vineyard services tailored to the individual projects located on California's Central Coast - primarily in the Paso Robles area. Clients include grower-owned acreage as well as wineries.
Vineyard Professional Services employs the latest in technology and the resources of John Crossland's thirty plus years experience in producing the highest quality premium varietal wine grapes. VPS currently manages over 2,000 acres in the Paso Robles/Templeton area and provides consulting services to several other area vineyards.
A member of the Central Coast Vineyard Team and one of the contributors and architects of the Code of Sustainable Winegrowing Practices, Vineyard Professional Services is committed to the efforts of sustainable farming.
Vineyard field operations are headed by Crossland and Dean Harrell. Dean, a graduate of UC Davis Viticulture with a B.S and M.S., brings several years of experience in sustainable farming. These men are further supported by our experienced team of Cal Poly graduates, Paul Smith (Agricultural Systems Management ), Tim Linquist (Animal Science), Linnea Norton (Viticulture and Soil Science), and Michael Phelan (Agricultural Management).
Vineyard Professional Services also provides our clients with high level administrative and accounting support. Our accounting and budget systems keep our clients informed of the economic transactions on a monthly basis with a month to date and year to date comparison to their annual budgets. These operations are headed by John Goldsmith, a Cal Poly Agribusiness graduate who also has over 18 years of local agricultural banking experience.
In addition, Goldsmith is the broker for a full-service real estate company which specializes in vineyard and winery acquisition and sales. Vineyard Professional R/E, Inc. was formed to provide high quality, knowledgeable real estate sales experience to our clients as well as support for customers considering viticultural investment in the Paso Robles area wine region.
